OPENING REMARKS

The Spotsylvania Mall Company is very excited about the upcoming renovation and expansion of the Spotsylvania Mall. With the collaborative effort between the community, local government officials, area engineers, and the Mall Company, the existing Spotsylvania Mall will undergo a metamorphosis and become Spotsylvania Towne Centre.

The Spotsylvania Mall was first developed in 1980, and expanded and renovated in 1993 with the addition of Hecht's. In an effort to improve your shopping experience, we are proposing to renovate and expand the existing mall to continue to meet your needs. The renovation will include: the reconstruction of all the existing mall entrances with new entrance canopies as well as a beautiful porte cochere at the north main entrance; new porcelain tile floor coverings throughout the mall; plush carpeted soft seating areas; and thirty natural skylights. We will expand the existing mall to include an open-air life-style center with a village like theme designed to mimic the main street of yesteryear with pedestrian friendly sidewalks and roadways that wind through the centre with lavish landscaping and architectural details. The life-style center will also include a multi screen cinema, together with additional peripheral developments such as, a major luxury hotel, an upscale grocery store, and free standing restaurants. In addition, some of our major department stores will expand and bring in new merchandising lines.

As the metamorphosis takes place, we will be updating our website as new information about the renovation and expansion becomes available.
